Palma International Boat Show 2022 is back from April 28th to May 1st

If you head down to Palma towards Moll Vell in April you will see large tents being erected and lots of yachts being prepared by harassed looking captains and crew for the biggest nautical event on the island – the Palma International Boat Show.

The Palma International Boat Show is back for 2022 and this year the organisers have pulled out all of the stops to ensure that it is bigger and better than ever after a difficult couple of years due to the pandemic. Even though it took place last year, the event was subject to the Covid restrictions regarding social distancing, capacities and mask-wearing.

So what can we expect from the Palma International Boat Show 2022?

Held on the promenade of Moll Vell in Palma under the shadow of the majestic La Seu Cathedral from April 28th to May 1st, the Palma International Boat Show will host over 600 yachts of different sizes for the official opening of the Mediterranean nautical season. Industry leaders and nautical professionals all attend either as exhibitors or visitors to find out what is new in the sector and network with other businesses.

The show also hosts the Superyacht Village, formerly known as the Palma Superyacht Show, which is a separate part of the set-up and features some of the most impressive 24m+ superyachts on the international market. Marine industry professionals also exhibit in the Superyacht Village and there is a dedicated Refit & Repair area.

The layout of the event itself is designed in such a way that visitors can walk the entire way around Moll Vell to admire the yachts and mingle with the exhibitors. A team of more than 150 people have been working since early April on the installation including the 72-metre floating walkway that links the Consigna Breakwater with the Fishing Industry Dock.

Thousands of people from around the world are expected to attend over the four days, especially now that travel to Mallorca is so much easier now that the Covid restrictions have been relaxed. There are several events within the boat show including presentations, training seminars and networking events, details of which will be provided upon arrival or by the participating companies.

For a day out admiring the superyachts that have become a key part of Palma’s backdrop, be sure to head down to the Palma International Boat Show and get a taste of how the other half live, There are also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or a drink so why not make a day of it?

Tickets can be purchased online at https://palmainternationalboatshow.com/ for 10 euros per day or a professional 4-day pass can be purchased for 35 euros through the same link.
